PMC Pass Thru to FPIX1 test beam inner board and FPIX1 Module.

This firmware is for connecting the FPIX1 test beam inner board or a FPIX1 module to a PMC.  Firmware provides a simple pass through of the signals to/from the JN1/JN2 connector on the PTA/PMC interface to/from the SAMTEC connectors.   It is important that the appropriate PMC termination resistors are installed.

PTA Firmware

The PTA card MUST have this firmware.  Failure to use this firmware can result in damage to both the PTA and PMC card.

Be sure you have the proper firmware for either the "Old" PTA card, or the "New" PTA card.  The "New" PTA card is silk screened with the date "3/29/02".  Old PTA cards are silk screened with a date that is before 3/29/02.

Cables and Connections - FPIX1 Test Beam Board

2 cables are required for this setup.

Mapping of all connections and termination resistor requirements (11"x17"): MappingSW_WriteThru_FPIX1.pdf

Connect SAMTEC "C" on PMC to J3 on FPIX1 inner board
Connect SAMTEC "D" on PMC to J1 on FPIX1 inner board

Cables and Connections - FPIX1 Module

2 cables are required for this setup.

Jump J5 pin 2 to J5 pin 1 on the PMC to select module mode of the PMC firmware.

Connect SAMTEC "C" and SAMTEC "A" to the FPIX1 Pixel Module.

Note that the incoming differential signal that arrive directly from the FPIX1 chip(s) to the PMCs should not have a termination resistor on the PMC.
