VRB Fanout Module (VFO)
Features
|
The VRB Fanout (VFO) is a 9U single-width VME-P module that receives messages from the System Readout Controller (SRC) on a 50 conductor LVDS ribbon cable through a front panel connector. These messages are translated by the VFO to TTL signals and sent to each VME Readout Buffer (VRB) module in the subrack via the J3 backplane. The corresponding status information returned from each VRB is received and translated (to LVDS) by the VFO module and sent back to the main System Controller (SRC) module over the same ribbon cable. The VFO can also provide a common clock to each VRB in the subrack. This distributed clock allows the VRB's to be run synchronously for applications that require this mode of operation.
